In the event of a death of a Regular Force Army soldier, the Liaison Officer is ready to extend assistance to the family/whanau in assisting to navigate the necessary processes following the death of their loved one.

The role of the Army Liaison Officer encompasses practical and compassionate support by:

  • Serving as the primary link connecting the family with the NZ Army.

  • Working alongside the family, respecting their preferred pace and preferences.

  • Accessing appropriate resources and supplementary aid to address their needs.

  • Facilitating, as required, referrals to grief counsellors, financial advisors, and other relevant services.

In times of emotional distress and practical uncertainties, the NZ Army Casualty Liaison Officer (CLO) stand as reliable supporters, ensuring that families receive comprehensive assistance tailored to their unique circumstances.

This considered approach is aimed at alleviating the burdens that accompany such challenging situations and guiding families toward the appropriate resources and assistance needed to navigate this difficult period.
